How is Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center different from other general dermatology clinics?

When you choose to seek treatment with us, you can be assured that the only health-care provider who will manage your skin, hair, or nail condition is a board-certified dermatologist. Additionally, because of the way that our clinic is structured, our dermatologists are able to spend more time with you during your appointment, so that your concerns can be thoroughly discussed along with possible treatment options. We want to ensure that you feel heard, seen, and not rushed during your visit. Relatedly, our dermatologists are able to circumvent the 3-5 month waiting time that is common in many general dermatology clinics and see you either on the same day or the next day, depending on the acuity of your condition as well as your preference for when you would like to be seen. Another compelling reason to choose Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center for your general dermatology needs is that we are able to approach the treatment of skin, hair, and nail disease in a manner that is multi-faceted, and incorporates many of our state-of-the-art lasers and energy-based devices into your treatment plan, in a way that other clinics are not able to.

How are board-certified dermatologists different from other health care providers who might also treat skin, hair, and nail conditions?

A dermatologist is a medical doctor (MD) who has completed extensive education and training. To become a dermatologist, one must, at a minimum, complete 4 years of undergraduate study to earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by 4 years of medical school to earn a degree in medicine (MD), followed by a 1-year internship in general or surgical medicine, followed by 3 years of specialty training in dermatology (residency). That is a minimum of 12 years of education to become a dermatologist. In order to earn board-certification from the American Board of Dermatology, a dermatologist must not only pass an extremely rigorous certification exam upon the completion of their residency, but they must also maintain this certification on a quarterly basis by participating in ongoing continuing educational activities and assessments. Because of this, you can be assured that when are you are seeing a board-certified dermatologist, you are placing your care in the hands of an individual who has completed extensive education, who is committed to life-long learning and intellectual rigor in order to maintain their board-certification, and who as a consequence is deeply committed to both the specialty of dermatology and to their patients. Dr. Taylor, Dr. Huerth, and Dr. McClean – our board-certified dermatologists at Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center – are all shining examples of this passion and commitment.

Can I use my insurance to pay for my treatment at Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center?

Although we understand that navigating insurance coverage is an important consideration for patients seeking medical care, our clinic operates on a self-pay basis and unfortunately is not able to accept insurance for payment. Our practice has chosen to focus on providing the best possible care to our patients, and by electing to not work with insurance companies, we are able to make ourselves more available to you when you need us and dedicate more time to your needs when you come to see us. And while we are not able to accept insurance, we do provide transparent pricing as well as financing options, should you need this to help cover the cost of your treatment.

We are here to support you in making the best decisions for your health. If you have any questions or need further information or assistance, please reach out to us.
