Wrinkles, scars and spots appear with age. Most changes are benign, however some such as melanoma and other skin cancers have a subtle appearance that may not be appreciated or correctly diagnosed by the untrained eye. We recommend that you consult with a member of our highly trained staff that includes multiple board-certified dermatologists to assess your skin prior to beginning treatments. If skin cancers or precancerous lesions are present, it is important to recognize this condition early to avoid serious complications. Our providers can also make recommendations to preserve your skin’s natural beauty.
The earliest signs of aging include fine lines, skin laxity, changes in texture and color along with the appearance of freckles, age spots and other skin lesions common in aged skin. Gateway offers a wide array of simple procedures that can often be conveniently performed with no interruption to your work or social schedule.
As aging progresses, it may be necessary to have treatments such as laser resurfacing to treat deeper wrinkles, scars and some skin lesions. Discolored red and brown spots and precancerous lesions may also need specialty treatment.
Laser resurfacing is the most effective treatment to remove wrinkles, scars, precancerous lesions, and to erase 20+ years of aging from your skin. Light, medium, and deep laser resurfacing are available to meet your needs and lifestyle. Treatment can be performed either in a single session, or with milder treatments over multiple sessions. Examples of laser resurfacing treatments are Fotona resurfacing, Fraxel, Halo, Clear & Brilliant, etc. Another example, the Light & Bright facial, is a combination treatment for brown & red pigmentation with IPL or laser plus a mild laser peel. What is Radiofrequency Sublative Rejuvenation?
RF Sublative Rejuvenation is an FDA approved procedure that can correct loose, sagging facial skin, minor wrinkles, acne scars, poor skin tone, skin lesions, and skin texture irregularities.
How does it work?
Radiofrequency energy, rather than laser energy, is used to treat damaged underlying dermal tissue without burning, removing or disturbing the surface skin. Essentially the treatment heats and removes microscopic bits of damaged skin beneath the skin surface. As the remaining skin heals, new collagen is produced. The result is tighter, smother, brighter looking skin.
How Long Does this Procedure Take?
A typical RF Sublative treatment takes 10-20 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
How many treatments are required?
Generally a series of 3 or more treatments are performed at 3 to 4 week intervals. However, patients generally see an improvement in the overall texture and tone of their skin, along with a reduction in fine wrinkles and scars, after just the first treatment.
How long will the results last?
Patients can expect eMatrix results to be longterm after completing a treatment package. Infrequent touch-up eMatrix sessions may be recommended to maintain the best level of results.
Is there any downtime after the procedure?
Since RF sublation mostly occurs beneath the skin’s surface, recovery is quick and downtime is minimal. Patients will generally experience mild to moderate redness (much like a sunburn) and mild swelling. After treatment, most patients return to work the next day.
Is treatment painful?
Most patients report minimal discomfort during or after treatment.
Can all skin types be treated?
Yes. Since the procedure uses radiofrequency energy, all skin types can be safely treated.
