Amanda Lucero ND is a board certified naturopathic physician. Naturopathic medicine combines the healing power of nature with the standards of modern science, exploring the root cause of illness with a patient-centered approach. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Lucero spent 15 years in the fitness industry, with a successful career as a Pilates trainer in San Francisco and Seattle. In 2013, Dr. Lucero received her doctorate from Bastyr University, a globally respected institute for natural health.
Dr. Lucero’s expertise is in chronic disease, with her primary areas of interest being autoimmune conditions, thyroid health, women’s health, mood disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. She is also fascinated with genetic variations (SNP’s) and has experience tailoring treatment plans to optimize patients’ health depending on their genes. Dr. Lucero applies an integrative approach to her treatments, drawing from both natural and conventional medicine for patient success.
Dr. Lucero has an extensive volunteer history, including hospice support for patients living with AIDS and medical outreach work in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. She holds additional training in Craniosacral therapy, IV nutrient therapy, advanced gynecology, and biotoxin illness (mold exposure and Lyme disease).
Dr. Lucero resides in Salt Lake City with her husband and two young children. During her free time she enjoys doing hot yoga, exploring the great outdoors, and making raw desserts.
